Additional pics and details of my Small Tabletop Play Gyms.

Pictured here are examples of some of my recently shipped Tabletop Gyms.  As you browse these pics, please notice a couple of things.

  • I use a basic formula for my gyms, a vertical trunk with branches coming off that trunk just like a real tree, what a concept!
  • Each and every one of my gyms is unique.  When I build them, I start with the vertical, then add the main top branch, the stairs in the staircase.  I look for the RIGHT pieces so each gym looks RIGHT, has the right feel.  I don't know what I'm looking for, but I know it when I see it.
  • My gyms are designed to be a piece of parrot furniture you'll be proud to display in your home.
  • I use several high gloss Formica colors in my gyms.  These make my gyms extremely easy to clean and look gorgeous.
  • Consider your gym to be a free standing piece of art.  Even if the tray color doesn't exactly match your decor, remember, this is for your bird and it's likely your bird doesn't match your decor as well.
  • The branches start at the tray, and spiral towards the top branch, like a spiral staircase.
  • I stagger the branches to provide clear drop zones below each branch.  In about 90% on the time, poop misses lower branches, that's the idea.
  • Perch diameter isn't critical with Bottlebrush because your bird doesn't have to GRIP to use my Bottlebrush gyms.
  • I use a variety of perch diameters to prevent foot cramping.
  • What makes my gyms unique is the actual amount of USABLE perch space in my gyms.  The average small has over 4 feet of USABLE perch space in a footprint that won't overpower your home.
  • As you look at the different models I offer, you'll notice that the smaller the gym, the more branches used.  Play gyms are a perfect example of more isn't better.  Too many perches on a Large gym make it too crowded to be practical just like too few perches on a small gym isn't practical as well.  The secret is to provide the right amount of branches for each specific gym.  That's where my experience and expertise comes in.
  • All of my gyms have a built in toy called a SPINNER.  Spinners are psychological parrot toys.  Basically, a spinner is a slice of Bottlebrush with a hole drilled in it. It's attached to one of the branches of the staircase, see pics below.  It spins, but can't be removed.  Your bird will try to remove it but can't, and that's what they like.  It's great for chewing and gnawing, and when one is chewed up, I include two replacements.
