| Why you and your bird
need a Bottlebrush Parrot Play Gym.
If this is your first time on my site,
welcome. Since 1992, I've been building a line of totally unique and
100% original Bottlebrush stuff both you and your parrot will love.
It can and will change ALL of your lives, however, I need to ask you for
something extremely valuable, a few minutes of your time.
If you're lucky enough to have a happy, well
adjusted bird, my Bottlebrush stuff can and will keep it that way.
However, for those of you with behavior problems, my Bottlebrush stuff was
designed to help, and it can and will help you get the kind of bird you
wanted when you brought your parrot home.
I'm going to ask you to read 2 pages on my
site. The first page discusses the situation most parrots find
themselves in, and the second page provides the foundation for improving
your birds day to day life. If, after reading these two pages, my stuff
and concepts don't make sense to you, thanks for your time and best of
luck in your search. If my concepts and stuff does make sense to
you, welcome. Together, we can and will change all of your
lives.
The first page is Want to improve your parrots life, try one of my Bottlebrush Parrot Play Gyms.
Generally, parrot owning household falls into 2 basic categories.
Category 1. You have a happy, well adjusted bird that's a pleasure to
share your home with. If your in category one, consider yourself very
lucky. I assume you want to keep it this way, and nothing will help more
than a properly designed play gym.
Category 2. Your bird seems depressed, unhappy, and is becoming more
and more disruptive to your home and family. Unfortunately, once this kind
of behavior starts, it rarely improves without making some changes, and
again, a properly designed play gym can and will dramatically improve the
situation.
So, this is what I offer. If
that's something you would like your bird to have, it's up to you.
It's up to you to decide to try one. My site has a ton of info,
maybe too much. If your willing to spend some time, I'm confident
you'll realize what I offer is unique, and your bird deserves to live this
kind of lifestyle.
Let me give you a quick rundown about
my gyms. Basically, they consist of two distinct items, the Trays and the Branch assembly.
I use a two tray design so your bird
can't climb down. The middle tray acts like a fenced yard.
Your bird can literally climb all over my gyms, and they provide a lot of
usable climbing, playing space in a compact area. I call these Play
Gyms because they're designed to encourage your bird to have fun doing
stuff free birds naturally do. Imagine seeing your bird acting like
he would were he free in the wild, in a tree!
The basic idea behind my trays is
that they basically last forever. As long as they aren't left
outdoors, (need a gym for outdoors, check out my Hanging
Gyms), my trays will never need to be replaced no matter how
long you have them, or what kind of birds use them.
The Trays. You care about the
trays, your bird doesn't.
- 3/4" furniture grade plywood,
no Melamine or Particle board ever.
- On top of this plywood, I use
Formica in 4 beautiful colors. Blue, Green and Slate Black
marble pattern, or Chestnut Burl Formica. I use
smooth, high gloss Formica for beauty and these are very easy to
clean.
- 1/8 X 11/2" Aluminum border
on the top tray, 1/8 X 3/4" on the bottom tray. Most gyms
use wood, which your bird will destroy in no time. Aluminum will
virtually last forever, and that's the idea here.

- Between the two trays, I
include a stained and finished pedestal. These pedestals provide
my gyms with stability, and they look great as well.
- Casters are standard, and my gyms
fit thru standard doors.
The Branch Assembly. This is
what your birds cares about.
- Bottlebrush. This is the secret ingredient
in my play gyms and the reason your bird will LOVE one. I have a
dedicated page about Bottlebrush for more info if you're not familiar
with it. Why Bottlebrush, why you need it, your Parrot needs it, and why it's all I've ever used?
- Basically, my branch assemblies
are designed like a real tree, with branches coming off a main
trunk. This design is natural and intuitive for your bird, and
they will literally have a blast running up and down the
branches. My gyms actually have a lot of USABLE perch
space.
- I stagger all the branches to
provide free drop zones so birds rarely poop on lower branches.
About 90% of the poop will hit the tray, not the lower
branches.
- Staggered branches also provides
lots of space for hanging upside down and rambunctious
playing.
- The branch assembly itself is
constructed using Lag Bolts and torqued in place using an Impact
Wrench. No matter how big or how active your bird is, the branch
assembly will never come apart.
- Lots of screw eyes for hanging
toys, etc.
- Screw in cups are included.
- Each of my gyms have a built in
toy called the Spinner. Basically, it's a slice of Bottlebrush
that spins, but your bird can't remove it. It's a psychological
bird toy that drives birds NUTS. And, after the spinner is
chewed up, I include two refills.
- When I build the branch assembly
of each gym, branch size and branch spacing is determined specifically
for the bird it's ordered for. I also give each gym the right
FEEL. I can't say what that is, but I know it when I see
it. In my minds eye, I envision the RIGHT branch, and search my
Bottlebrush supply until I find it.
- Each and every one of my gyms is
hand built by me, I do it all. I don't ship until it's right,
and I'm proud of my work. In fact, I hand sign, date and number
every one of my gyms.
My gyms are a beautiful piece of parrot furniture
both you and your bird will love. However, it gets even better.
How much do you spend weekly, monthly on chew
toys? Well, the branch assembly on my gyms are basically one big
chew toy. After 1 year, or 2 years, or maybe never, you can replace
the branch assembly. That's right, remove the old set, install the
new set, and presto, you have a brand new gym. Remember, the trays
are designed and built to last forever. And, during this time,
you're not spending a dime on chew toys. Over time, those savings
will not only pay for your gym, but it won't take long before your making
money. And, your bird will be happier then you've ever seen
him. You and your bird can't lose.
